10 Lockdown Era WWE Superstars You Totally Don't Remember

4. Catalina/Katrina Cortez

WWE called this forgotten star Carolina for her sudden Raw big break in a tag with Sin Cara vs. Andrade and Zelina Vega on the 4 November 2019 show. That curiously short main roster run ended (it was never going to be Vince McMahon's cup of tea, and it's actually a surprise he slapped the green light on it to begin with), and the masked prospect returned to NXT/the PC.

Carolina gave way to Catalina, then Catalina Garcia, then Katrina Cortez. Christ, WWE. Do you think that's enough name changes for one wrestler during a two year stint?! In fairness, Cortez did end up carving out a spot for herself on NXT in 2020, and she even wrestled Bianca Belair and Asuka on subsequent episodes of Main Event that April.

Things were looking rather positive, but that wouldn't last.

Katrina was released from her contract on 4 November 2021. Yes, exactly two years on from the random Raw match that was meant to launch Carolina on the A-show. Since leaving WWE, Cortez has found success in CMLL, particularly in 2024, when she was become an emergent force.
