10 Long-Term WWE Pay Offs You Should Be Excited For

4. Horsin' Around

Horsewomen vs Horsewomen
WWE

An angle created almost entirely outside the auspices of WWE television, the battle between the four most important women's wrestlers in contemporary company history and their MMA crossover counterparts was crafted almost entirely by accident.

The Four Horsewomen of WWE and MMA shared a moniker but little else in their respective career paths. Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley transformed the North American scene with their transcendent work in NXT, whilst Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke did much the same for mixed martial arts. The comparisons would be little more than cute coincidences, had it not been for the labels both squads selected.

But what's in a name?

Based on the talents of those involved, a great deal. Five of the eight are currently among the elite in women's wrestling, one absolutely could be if she returned from an "impregnation vacation", whilst the remaining two continue to sharpen their skills in hope of a stage this grand.

WWE might have missed a window that was open a crack early in early 2018 when all eight women were fit and active within the WWE system and on the right sides of the babyface/heel divide, but that's not to say it couldn't ever come around again. And what a spectacle it would be.
