10 Longest Active UFC Streaks
7. Alexander Volkanovski - 8
Alexander 'The Great' Volkanovski was playing Rugby League in Australia up until 2012 and now - eight years later - he sits atop the UFC Featherweight division as the champion.
What a life.
With a 13-1 MMA record coming into his first ever UFC bout, Volkanovski arrived in the organisation with a lot of momentum. However, he'd spent all of his career fighting in Oceania and therefore few expected him to adapt to the step up in class quite as quickly as he did.
Powering through his first six opponents, Volkanovski then came up against his first real top tier Featherweight talent in Chad Mendes at UFC 232... and stopped him in the second round.
He then followed that up with a unanimous decision victory over Featherweight legend Jose Aldo at UFC 237.
A title shot beckoned for the dominant Aussie and he finally came face-to-face with Max Holloway at UFC 245. Completely outclassing one of the best that the division had ever seen, Volkanovski became the new champ and extended his UFC winning streak to eight-in-a-row.
In a division where Holloway still sits as the number one contender, will anyone be able to end Volkanovski's run inside the cage? It's going to be a bloody tough ask.
