10 Longest Active UFC Streaks
6. Israel Adesanya - 8
From one City Kickboxing UFC Champion to another.
Taking part in 80 kickboxing bouts (winning 75) before he even stepped foot inside of the UFC Octagon, it was clear that Israel Adesanya had a whole heap of fight experience. But, how would he cope under the bright lights of the world's biggest MMA promotion?
He thrived.
Winning his first four UFC clashes set up a dream fight for the rising star. A showdown with 'The Spider' Anderson Silva at UFC 234, who just so happened to be an idol of the Nigerian-born New Zealander.
He confidently beat the Middleweight icon and then set his sights on Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 236. A Fight of the Year contest ended in Izzy becoming the new Interim UFC Middleweight Champion.
However, 'The Last Stylebender' wouldn't rest until he was undisputed and set his sights on then-champ Robert Whittaker at UFC 243. KO'ing Whittaker in the second round, Adesanya unified the belts and set the tone for his reign by calling out the terrifying Yoel Romero soon after.
Sure, that fight at UFC 248 was a bonafide dud, but Izzy still won and now boasts an eight fight UFC winning streak.
He may be cocky, he may be unorthodox, but he sure as hell delivers and hasn't tasted defeat inside the world of MMA yet.
