10 Longest Gaps Between WWE Title Defences

9. 91 Days - Layla (Divas)

London's own Layla is just six days ahead of The Miz when it comes to idle championship reigns. Layla's one and only Divas Championship reign began well enough, but after overcoming Beth Phoenix in June 2012, Mrs' Ricky Ortiz disappeared. Layla resurfaced three months later, but only to drop the title to Eve Torres at Night of Champions 2012.

The years preceding the so-called 'women's revolution' saw a lot of championship reigns similar to Layla's. A talent would come out of nowhere to win the title. They'd then successfully defended it once or twice, before dropping the belt and out of the title scene altogether.

Layla retired from in-ring competition at the end of July in 2015, but her best in-ring years were well behind her at that point.
