10 Longest Gaps Between WWE Title Defences
8. 92 Days - Big E. (Intercontinental)
2016 saw Big E. embark on a career-defining championship reign alongside his New Day brethren, but his only singles title reign to date wasn't so impressive. For those who missed it, Big E.'s only singles title reign to date was a somewhat disappointing stretch as Intercontinental Champion back in late 2013/early 2014.
Big E. won the championship from Curtis Axel in November 2013, and retained the title against the Axeman a week or so later. That was the end of Big E.'s title defences for 2013 however, and it wasn't until 23 February 2014 that the Intercontinental Championship was on the line again. Jack Swagger provided the opposition at Elimination Chamber.
When Big E. won the championship he was a somewhat hot property, his strange charisma just beginning to shine through to the WWE Universe. The Intercontinental Championship seemed to stunt his progress somewhat. When Bad News Barrett (himself no stranger to the IC title proving to be a millstone) took the title from him, Big E. was right back to square one.
There is every chance that the big man's next singles title reign will be slightly more noteworthy.
