Ric Flair's first stint in WWE may have been short, but The Nature Boy has referred to it as the 'greatest year and a half of my career, outside the time I spent with Arn Anderson and The Four Horsemen'. Flair competed at just one WrestleMania during this time - a WWF Championship loss to 'Macho Man' Randy Savage at WrestleMania VIII.

Flair did not return to WrestleMania until one year after the demise of WCW. WrestleMania X8 saw Flair go up against The Undertaker in a classic brawl, a bout that featured one of the best spinebusters in history and ended with 'Taker directly acknowledging The Streak for the first time. In a nice bit of symmetry, Flair's first WrestleMania appearance in 10 years saw The Undertaker chalk up his 10th win at the Showcase of the Immortals.

The Nature Boy's in-ring (WWE) career came to an end six years later at WrestleMania XXIV, when Shawn Michaels openly apologised and spoke of his love for Flair - before subsequently kicking his head off.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
