Whilst Flair alone has gone exactly ten years without a WrestleMania match, five men spent 12 years on the sidelines waiting for a return to the biggest wrestling show of the year. Terry Funk teamed up with his brother Dory (known as Hoss Funk) at WrestleMania II to do battle with Tito Santana and Junkyard Dog, the Funk Brothers coming out on top in the penultimate match of an immensely long night.

Funk returned to WrestleMania some 12 years later at WrestleMania XIV, teaming up with Cactus Jack to take on The New Age Outlaws. Billy Gunn also had to wait 12 years between 'Mania appearances, missing every WrestleMania between XIX and 29 before returning to get triple powerbombed by The Shield at WrestleMania XXX.

Two years later, The Dudley Boyz competed at their first WrestleMania in 12 years later, falling to The Usos on the WrestleMania 32 Kickoff show. Goldust rounds out this entry, missing the same amount of years in between a Hardcore Championship match with Maven at WrestleMania X8 and the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXX.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
