10 Longest Matches In WWE History

6. Bob Backlund (C) Vs Don Muraco - WWE Title - WWF MSG Show Aug 24th 1981 (60 Minutes)

Bob Backlund was another WWE legend who got over big in the Northeastern region. He was an accomplished amateur wrestler, which perhaps explains how he was well conditioned enough to go an hour in some of his WWE matches. His opponent at Madison Square Garden in August 1981 was Don Muraco. This represented a solid challenge for Backlund, as Muraco was a top star of the era. He even went by the name "The Rock" way before Dwayne Johnson adopted the name. The finish of this match had no winner. Instead it was a sixty minute time limit draw, meaning that Backlund retained the title, without handing a loss to Muraco.
