10 Longest Reigning WCW Television Champions

8. Chris Jericho - 112 Days

Chris Jericho's longest reign with the WCW Television Championship started in peculiar circumstances, as he defeated a man who never actually won the title. Booker T was the champion, but injury forced him out and he subsequently awarded the title to his brother, Stevie Ray. Ray would defend the title, before eventually coming up short against Jericho on an episode of Nitro in August 1998. It was during this title reign that Jericho would have his infamous beef with Goldberg. Y2J would continuously call out the then-undefeated Goldberg, mocking him on a number of occasions. This miffed Goldberg, and would also cause Jericho to eventually leave the company, as a match between the two never happened on pay-per-view, which Jericho thought was a waste and a case of backstage politics interfering with business. Jericho's sole TV title reign came to an end at the hands of Konnan on Nitro in November 1998.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
