10 Longest Reigning WCW Television Champions

4. Lex Luger - 167 Days

After playing a short game of hot potato with Johnny B. Badd (has that name ever been mentioned more in an article on WhatCulture?), Lex Luger settled into his longest run with the Television Championship starting in March 1996. A former WCW World Heavyweight and United States Champion, it was a sign of the importance of the title that Luger was challenging for and holding it. It also completed Luger's collection of heavyweight titles in WCW. His reign came to an end in August 1996 at the hands of Lord Steven Regal on WCW Saturday Night, who would go on to have a rather long reign himself, but more on that later.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
