10 Longest Reigning WCW Television Champions

3. Paul Orndorff - 169 Days

'Mr Wonderful' himself and the man who took part in the main event of the very first WrestleMania, I primarily know Paul Orndorff from his ridiculous voice on the first episode of Table for 3 on the WWE Network. Outside of dinner conversations, he is one of the biggest names from the beginning of professional wrestling's move into the mainstream. He also has the fourth longest WCW Television Championship reign, clocking in at an impressive 169 days. He won the belt in a tournament after Scott Steiner vacated the title (due to leaving for WWF with his brother Rick), defeating Erik Watts in the final on the spectacularly named WCW Power Hour (WCW's original Friday night show). Orndorff's run would come to an end at the hands of Ricky Steamboat at Clash of the Champions XXIV. His run was coloured by holding on to the title by any means necessary, be it cheating, evading challengers and other slimy tactics. Pretty wonderful indeed.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
