Damning New Details On The New Day's WWE Departures (WWE News)

WWE hasn't paid tribute to New Day's impact just yet. In fact, they might not praise them publicly.

Fightful Select recently leaked word on various wrestlers released by WWE only receiving 2 days to make their minds up over proposed pay cuts amidst contract restructuring talks. Effectively, those involved were handed just 2 days to save their jobs or leave the company.

Now, the website has released more news specifically regarding New Day duo Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.

According to Fightful, Kofi and Xavier made the decision to leave WWE "pretty quickly", and the tag-team "still left millions of dollars on the table over the next 4 years". That's a depressing thought, even in spite of the offered pay cut both were handed. Fightful likened this to the situation Karrion Kross faced last year before his departure from the promotion.

They also confirmed that they've heard nothing from sources about Woods potentially returning "on a digital only deal". That'd prevent him from working elsewhere, and it'd put a sizeable hole in his pocket to the tune of millions. Besides, Xavier can continue with his video gaming stuff and other projects without WWE anyway.

What's more, "a ton of names have pushed internally" for AEW to hire New Day.

During their report, Fightful also noted that "one WWE source had been referenced by another outlet as saying they were disgusted that WWE didn't publicly acknowledge New Day for their contributions". When asked, another source inside the company said that they did communicate a glowing tribute privately".

However, at time of writing, nothing has been made public and those same sources have no idea why.
