10. The Giant - 110 Days
You may know him better as the Big Show, but Paul Wight made his wrestling debut in WCW and was initially billed as the son of Andre the Giant. He also holds the distinction of being one of tiny number of performers to win a World Heavyweight Championship in their first match. Giant defeated Hulk Hogan for the title, winning the match by disqualification because Hulk Hogan. His first reign would last only eight days as he was stripped of the title due to the controversial nature of the finish, but he would get another run with the belt less than six months later, defeating inaugural World Heavyweight Champ Ric Flair. This time his run would last 110 days, ending at the hands of Hulk Hogan and the newly-formed nWo. Giant would join the group himself less than a month later.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
