10 Longest Reigning WWE Tag Team Champions Ever

7. The Shield - 148 Days

In some ways, the revival of the WWE tag scene really took off with The Shield.

Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins defeated Team Hell No (more on them later) for the titles at Extreme Rules in 2013 (the same night Dean Ambrose won the United States Championship), and their 148 day reign saw new teams established across from them, including some performances that really put the Usos on the map.

The Shield took the work that Bryan and Kane had started and gave it a true team feel. Their dominance also gave a true feeling that whoever would eventually depose them would get one heck of a rub from it. They eventually lost the straps to Cody Rhodes & Goldust in an emotionally charged match on RAW in October, the culmination of what was a fantastic short story for the Rhodes family.

That story should have seen Cody Rhodes sent into the stratosphere, but instead the Rhodes Boys lost the titles of the New Age Outlaws (of all people) just a couple of months later.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
