10 Longest WCW World Title Reigns Ever

Excuse me, HOW MANY DAYS DID HOGAN HOLD THE BIG GOLD BELT?!

Somewhere along the line, David Arquette's stupid and nonsensical victory over Eric Bischoff began to define the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. That monumentally idiotic booking decision certainly tarnished the title, and definitely added to the joke that the organization had become during the early months of the new Millennium, but the WCW Title's legacy was built by being held by some of the biggest and best stars ever to lace up a pair of boots. Men like Ric Flair, Sting, Hulk Hogan, Lex Luger, Goldberg, Diamond Dallas Page and Booker T helped lay the groundwork for a title that was the centrepiece of WCW television during the hottest period professional wrestling has ever seen. They lent it credibility, built its legitimacy and ensured its place in professional wrestling history. This was truer of some more than others, those whose lengthy title reigns helped build anticipation for the next challenger to step up and try to wrest the gold away from them. The quality, lengthy reigns were not only a sign of the trust bookers (and there were A LOT of them) had in the wrestler, they also made the title mean more. That way, pay-per-views could be built around the idea of someone finally unseating the champion. Which legendary figures enjoyed the longest reigns as champions, though? The following are the the ten longest WCW World Title reigns in that company's history.
