10 Lost Classic WWE Matches

This is a match that suffered from two major elements. The first was the infamous Sheamus/Daniel Bryan match at WrestleMania 28, where Bryan lost his world title in a one move squash match, causing massive controversy and eventually leading to the fans uniting behind him. The second was its card, with Extreme Rules 2012 being one of the most beloved PPVs of the last 10 years, with CM Punk vs Chris Jericho and John Cena vs Brock Lesnar being widely heralded as modern classics.

However, Bryan and Sheamus put on the best WWE match of 2012 in this two out of three falls match, one that completely salvaged Bryan's strength as a character even in defeat and proved Sheamus was a brilliant wrestler. Bryan's genius as a heel was so prominent here, purposefully getting disqualified in the first fall so he could take advantage with a Yes Lock in order to secure the second.

Bryan continued to use his experience and technical skills to ground the larger Sheamus, punishing his limbs and constantly looking like he was minutes away from getting the victory, even though Sheamus winning was inevitable. It's a masterpiece and a perfect introduction to the American Dragon.
