10 Lost WrestleMania Moments

1. The Ultimate Warrior Returns (WrestleMania VIII)

Incidentally, for years, WWE's biggest persona-non-grata was the Ultimate Warrior. With Warrior's first departure in 1991, WWE attempted to erase him from history, but he soon returned as the ultimate surprise to cap off WrestleMania VIII in the Hulk Hogan vs. Sid Justice finale.

When Papa Shango was late in causing the disqualification, Sid was forced to kick out of Hogan's leg drop. That was a major WrestleMania Moment itself, but since it wasn't part of the script, went relatively ignored.

Minutes later, fans were shocked to hear that familiar music play throughout the Hoosier Dome and to see a smaller, short-haired Warrior run to the ring to save the Hulkster. This monumental celebration was quickly made to feel like a dream.

Within weeks of WrestleMania VIII, Hogan retired (for a year) and Sid quit the company. By year's end, Warrior was once again on the outs with the company and Papa Shango had been relegated to mid-card status. At the time, it felt like the closing minutes of WrestleMania VIII would be a scene that would be replayed, over and over, for years to come.

Instead, it has become the biggest Lost WrestleMania Moment ever.
