Rating: -5 stars

Mr. T brought significant mainstream crossover appeal to WWE's biggest ever show, and while his main event with Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, and Paul Orndorff wasn't a great match. It was never supposed to be. The bout's aim was to close 'Mania with a big, crowd-pleasing spectacle, and that's exactly what it did.

Unfortunately, T's 'Mania II contributions landed on the opposite end of the spectrum. For some reason, WWE decided to book Piper, their top heel, in a boxing match with the former A-Team star, resulting in a predictably terrible choreographed fight.

The duo struggled to make their punches look convincing, and both ran out of gas early on. There was a huge botch, too, with T clearly missing a big left hook that was intended to knock Piper out of the ring, but 'Hotrod' selling regardless. Fortunately, the clash was brought to a merciful end when Roddy was disqualified for forgetting the rules and bodyslamming Mr. T, closing WM2's first mini-card in dreadful fashion.

In strictly numerical terms, this, along with Junkyard Dog vs. Moondog Spot, is the worst match in WWE history. Does it deserve that accolade?

Probably not, but its undeniable badness is amplified by the fact that it took place in such a prominent position on the year's biggest show.
