10 Lowest Rated WWE Matches Of All Time (According To Dave Meltzer)

7. Pat Patterson Vs. Gerald Brisco (King Of The Ring 2000)

Rating: -3 stars

"What on earth were they thinking?!" is a question that can be thrown at most of the matches on this list, but none more so than Pat Patterson vs. Gerald Brisco. Their King Of The Ring 2000 bout is an atrocity that should probably be erased from history altogether - it's just that bad.

Patterson and Brisco were 59 and 55 years old at the time, yet WWE still booked this Hardcore Evening Gown bout. Pat was inducted into the Hall Of Fame in 1996, while Jerry would follow a few years later, which marks this as one of the most humiliating bouts every performed by two wrestling legends. It was supposed to provide some light comic relief, but really, Vince McMahon was the only one laughing that night.

"Highlights" included Patterson shoving a sanity towel and a banana down Brisco's throat, and Gerry hitting a bronco buster in his gown. Chants of "boring" plagued it throughout, through brevity was its saving grace, as Crash Holly interfered to pin Pat and take advantage of the Hardcore Title's 24/7 rule after just three minutes.

Had it persisted any longer, perhaps it would've hit the fabled -5 stars.
