10 Ludicrous Things In Wrestling We’ll Tragically Never See

8. Orton Takes A Dive

Blandy Randy has been an unusually hot topic in 2017, but his rollercoaster ride through wrestling's headlines hit the climactic vertical drop ironically in a crushing dismissal of those that fly.

First jumping in on Rip Rogers' reasoned critical assessment of formulaic independent wrestling matches over Twitter, Orton slid backwards into a passive aggressive row with Bubba Ray Dudley after the former tag specialist tweeted an image performing a dive.

Following that, he tweeted an 'apology', mocking his critics with comments on how successful his most recent WWE tour had been and how inflated his next paycheque would be.

The petty tussle drew a lot of attention in the following days, with parties from both sides offering their take on the age-old debate of 'WWE vs Other Pro Wrestling', and companies flogging t-shirts and show tickets around the now-schismatic 'dive'.

Those begging for the master of the chinlock to add a high spot to his game (even subversively) were given little evidence that he'd pander in his WWE Title loss to Jinder Mahal at Backlash. Notable moments saw the Singh Brothers gather Mahal to his feet seemingly providing the target for 'The Viper', only for Orton to calmly slide out under the bottom rope. The times, they aren't a changin'.
