10 Major Challenges Facing WWE In 2019

8. Extreme Roster Bloat

WWE Roster Too Many Wrestlers

There are entirely too many wrestlers on every single level of WWE's talent pyramid.

The Raw Women's Title logjam has kept Horsewomen Bayley and Sasha Banks out of the main event picture for way too long. Talented guys like Karl Anderson and Tye Dillinger can't even get on television. Former indie wunderkind Keith Lee is stuck with nothing to do in NXT, and the Performance Center is stuffed with top-tier recruits who don't have a hope of making tapings anytime soon, despite their talents. It's a mess, and it's here to stay.

WWE aren't slowing down in their talent acquisition efforts, nor can they afford to. If their goal is to hold all the toys, thus preventing prospective competitors from having them, then they must pursue every name free agent on the market. An already-overflowing talent pool will be filled beyond breaking point.

Keeping all these talented men and woman happy is already a struggle, and the problem will be amplified as hordes of new recruits inevitably pour into the promotion throughout 2019. It almost necessitates more weekly television at the moment, but Raw, SmackDown, 205 Live, and NXT's combined seven hours is already too much.
