As mentioned during the intro to this piece, Endeavor are all about bottom line. One of the first things they did upon buying UFC in 2016 was cut legends contracts for guys like Randy Couture and others. Over on the pro wrestling side, WWE has a ton of legacy stars on legends deals too, but for how long?

Are those days over?

WWE's legends deals are more token gestures than anything else. They enlist iconic wrestlers from the past as company ambassadors, and sign them up to rights deals for merchandise, video game appearances, action figures and that sort of thing. They're also tasked with appearing at autograph signings and other non-wrestling events.

Without being too curt, it's a gravy train that Endeavor might derail. They've got previous here, and don't mind saving a dollar or two where possible if spending that cash is deemed senseless to the day-to-day business model they're operating.
