10 Major Improvements WWE Must Make Before WrestleMania XL
2. Finish The Story
The refusal to allow Cody Rhodes to "finish the story" at Mania 39 quickly felt like one of the most shocking missed opportunities in WWE history.
Triple H would smugly note in the post-PLE press conference that this was merely the end of a chapter and the story never truly ends in this sports entertainment universe.
Oh, really? If that's the case, then what was stopping the company from holding off on pulling the trigger on Cena and Batista's crowning moments at WrestleMania 21? Surely, both of those future megastars would have benefited from a bit more struggle and adversity before lifting their first WWE world title, right?
There likely won't ever be as perfect a moment to create a new John Cena, Batista or Roman Reigns than in that April 2 show-closer. But it's not too late to salvage what remains of Rhodes' once-unstoppable momentum.
The Tribal Chief will have cleared his all-important 1,000 number by SummerSlam. And whether at the Biggest Party of the Summer or WrestleMania XL itself, Cody's redemption has to be the key focus.
If it isn't, then WWE will have entirely squandered both their biggest potential face of the company in years and any hopes of bringing other top All Elite names over to the sports entertainment side.
