10 Major Improvements WWE Must Make Before WrestleMania XL
3. Split The Damn Belts
Combining the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships has most certainly helped make those straps feel more prestigious and difficult to attain, with both sets sitting as little more than ugly trinkets when split between the red and blue brands.
Whereas the tag division isn't exactly overflowing with potential world champs just waiting for a chance to win the big one, though, the same cannot be said when talking about those with their eyes on WWE's top singles titles.
Roman Reigns holding both the Universal and WWE Championships made for a glorious visual, sure. But it became painfully obvious in next to no time at all that the company had not thought through the idea.
Raw, SmackDown and PLEs were routinely world champion-less whenever The Tribal Chief was taking some time off from Bloodline business. And it's safe to say that the likes of Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Sami Zayn, and Cody Rhodes have all likely suffered due to WWE's need to keep Roman's long-running reign ticking along to the big 1,000-days.
Once that number is hit, finding a way to get one of those belts away from The Island of Relevancy has to be a priority. Or maybe WWE will just keep on murdering the momentum of many a potential world champion Then, Now, and Forever.
