Her peace, love and hugs lifestyle connected with fans, especially young girls looking for a role model. Her journey to the NXT Women’s Championship, an endless pursuit without risking her morals, inspired the NXT faithful and catapulted her into stardom.

Then she joined Raw and her inflatable tube man ran out of air. She won the Raw Women’s Championship just a few months after debuting, mangling the underdog story that previously defined her. A one-sided feud with Alexa Bliss destroyed her popularity as fans booed the perpetually sappy Bayley for the first time in her career. Although she built momentum in recent weeks, earning a title shot against Bliss at SummerSlam, it appears the damage has been done.
