10 Major Stars Who Questioned Bad WWE Booking

10. Kurt Angle

Baron Corbin wasn't Kurt Angle's choice for his retirement match.

In a podcast interview with WINCLY after WrestleMania 35, Kurt graciously admitted he probably had to put over a rising star on the way out. Even so, he hoped for a higher-profile match against someone like John Cena or AJ Styles, not a six-minute afterthought stuffed away in the 'Mania mid-card.

Vince McMahon was the one who made the call, told Angle his decision was final and swept away one of the most machine-like wrestling careers with one stroke of his pen. Kurt lost to Corbin without putting up much of a fight, and that couldn't have sat well with him despite his graciousness in interviews afterwards.

He finally opened up to reveal he wanted something more and something better for his final match inside a WWE ring. There's no shame in that. Angle deserved more than to bow out meekly against an opponent fans didn't want either.
