You may have bad luck, but odds are that you don't have Ken Kennedy in 2007 bad luck.

Despite his modest talents, to put it kindly, WWE was high on the star that year and tried to push him to the top three separate times. Every time, something happened to derail it.

First, Mr. Kennedy won the Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 23, guaranteeing him an anywhere, anytime shot at the World Heavyweight Title. That came in handy in May when champion The Undertaker went down with an injury - but it was soon discovered that Kennedy was also injured. He had a torn bicep. Edge quickly beat Kennedy for his briefcase and then beat Undertaker for the title. It turned out Kennedy's injury was a hematoma, and he missed far less time than expected.

By June, Vince McMahon was ready to unveil his next major storyline - his own death. After being humiliated on an episode of Raw, McMahon sullenly entered his limousine, which then exploded. He was presumed dead, and the storyline was meant to conclude with revelation that he had faked his death with Kennedy's help. However, the Chris Benoit double murder/suicide put the kibosh on that angle.

Finally, later in the year, it was discovered that Vince McMahon had fathered an illegitimate child who, coincidentally, was a part of his roster. There was an investigation that, again, was meant to end with Kennedy being revealed as the McMahon scion, but Kennedy was suspended for 30 days as part of the Signature Pharmacy bust. That meant he was absent for the storyline's denouement, so Hornswoggle was picked to play the seed of Vince.
