Vince Russo, like Eric Bischoff, is a controversial figure in the wrestling industry with a very large share of detractors - particularly within the hardcore internet wrestling community. Their heat began at WCW's Bash At The Beach pay-per-view, which saw an incident that has now become one of the company's most embarrassing and infamous moments. Russo, head booker at the time, wanted to have reigning world champion Jeff Jarrett go over Hulk Hogan, but Hulk refused to do the honours. The plan was then made that Jarrett would lay down for Hulk, who would then cut a worked shoot promo and leave the building, which would be followed by Russo coming out, nullifying the earlier result and making a title match between Jarrett and Booker T. And while Russo did nullify the result and make that match, he also publicly fired the Hulkster, saying that he'll never be seen in the company again - which he wasn't. Hulk sued Russo for defamation, and there was collateral heat between the writer and Bischoff, who had a large part in crafting the angle. Speaking candidly in a 2010 interview, Russo said that he's managed to work with the duo in TNA but 'if I had the opportunity for Eric and Hulk to leave TNA tomorrow, I would be all over that opportunity,' before adding that Bischoff 'doesn't care who he steps on,' and that power is all that drives him.

As a child, when I wasn't doing typical Australian things like fending off dingoes while riding in the pouches of kangaroos, I was watching wrestling.
