This is undoubtedly the most obvious inclusion on the list and for good reason. Yes, both men claim that their once fractured relationship has been fixed -- as time seems to heal all wounds. Fans even saw the two embrace in the center of a WWE ring upon Bret Harts return to the company, and in any interactions since then, the two seem to be cordial with each other. Still, one cant help but get a sense of some minor gripes that lay dormant beneath the surface. At one time, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels were the biggest rivals in the WWE -- not just in the ring, but also outside of it. Both men have spoken on the issue before, stating that at one time they got along fine, but as both of their careers skyrocketed they slowly devolved into hatred. Honestly, it seems natural that these two would become real-life rivals, as they both ascended to the top of the WWE around the same time. Thus, both men were vying for the top spot in the company, and both superstars wanted it bad. The most famous incident involving Bret and Shawn is obviously the Montreal Screwjob -- an event so noteworthy that its been covered a million times. So, lets move past the infamous screwjob, to a less frequently covered event in their history. Jim Cornette will tell us the tale -- courtesy of a shoot interview with Kayfabe Commentaries. Were there at Hartford, for Raw and here comes Steve Lombardi -- Brooklyn Brawler: Holy sh*t! Shawn and Bret just got in a fight Cornette goes on to describe the altercation, as witnessed by Jerry The King Lawler, who was using the restroom. Supposedly, after some words being thrown around, Bret and Shawn started to physically brawl. Lawler, Lombardi, and others broke up the fight, but not before the damage was done. After hearing of the altercation, Cornette went to Vince McMahons office to inform him when HBK suddenly burst in the room, ranting and raving -- even claiming that the WWE locker room was an unsafe work environment. The kicker to the whole story -- which has been confirmed by other superstars and not just Cornette -- is that Shawn was holding a hunk of his own hair which Bret had ripped out of his head during the scuffle. After tossing it on the ground and leaving the room, Cornette claims that he took the hair as a visual aid for when he told his now ex-wife the story. He further claims that his ex-wife is probably still in possession of the hair. In short, the hatred and conflict between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart is well documented. Jim Cornettes story is just another piece of the ever-expanding puzzle that was the feud between the two superstars. As stated, it appears that the two men have mended their relationship -- as many have done with HBK over time. Shawn Michaels is one of the greatest in-ring performers the world of wrestling has ever seen, but as this article has taught us, he made many enemies along the way. Let us know your thoughts on HBK and his once difficult ways in the comments below.
