Kurt Angle is a legitimate wrestler and Olympic gold medalist. These two facts can, at times, give Kurt a bit of an ego. While he surely is a phenomenal athlete, he tends to look down a bit on other competitors that do not have his storied background. One such wrestler is Shawn Michaels. Kurt has made disparaging comments before toward both Michaels and Triple H. He has essentially stated that he feels they are not in his league, so to speak. Reportedly, while feuding with Shawn, some friction began to develop. Two separate sources claim similar yet different stories. One tale says that Michaels would complain to Vince McMahon that Angle was too rough and stiff. Angle would then be scolded by McMahon to lighten up. Another story, from former WWE lead writer Alex Greenfield, expresses a similar tale with slightly different details. In this version of the anecdote, after a 2005 contest, Michaels approached Kurt himself. Shawn was apparently livid and cursing at the former Olympian, again about being too stiff. Reportedly, Kurt and Shawn brawled, and ultimately, Angle came out the victor after supposedly tossing HBK like a rag doll. While Kurt and Shawn may not exactly hate each other, there was -- at least at one point in history -- some legitimate animosity between the two. But, as is often the case in professional wrestling, two men with large egos do not mix well.
