10 Match Star Ratings For AEW All Out 2023

6. Kris Statlander Vs. Ruby Soho - TBS Title Match

In a familiar and deflating story, the action was very good but the overall presentation was undermined by an apathetic crowd response. Since the AEW base has been conditioned not to care about women's wrestling, they barely cared about this women's wrestling match.

Cause.

Effect.

If Ruby Soho had been built as a credible challenger allocated with significant television time, the fans might have bit on the cracking sequence in which, with a poison 'rana, DDT and low hurricanrana comnination, she looked to have Kris Statlander's number. Instead, it was a great athletic flourish more than a spellbinding moment of drama.

Perhaps they overcompensated, and understandably so, but the match peaked when Statlander struck an avalanche Tour of the Islands of sorts. Nothing that followed was as exhilarating as that, and the finish wasn't great. Toni Storm emerged from under the ring to take away the spray paint can from Soho. As fantastic as her psychosis act has been, Toni's acting was a bit too hammy here, and Statlander hardly got over by capitalising on a distraction.

Star Rating: ★★★¼
