Earlier this month, T.J. Perkins and Gran Metalilk faced off in the finals of the Cruiserweight Classic tournament. Right before the match began, Triple H announced that not only would the bout's winner claim victory in the inaugural tournament, but he'd also be the Cruiserweight Champion. Perkins won, forcing Metalik to submit to a reverse figure four.

Since then, the cruiserweight division has come to Raw, and Perkins has made his first defense of the title - he defeated Brian Kendrick at Clash of Champions in a well-received match. His next major title defense, however, will have the advantage of some lead time in which to be promoted, and it should come in the form of a rematch with Gran Metalik.

The bout would be a great high-flying battle that would serve to remind everyone exactly why the CWC was so acclaimed. In the end, though, the result shouldn't be any different than it was the first time - Perkins should pick up another clean win, establishing himself as a dominant champion.
