WWE have a long and proud history of doing shows in the United Kingdom that have little or no consequence to them and One Night Only in 1997 was no different.

The entire show was built around Shawn Michaels' quest to become European champion, an achievement that would make him WWE's first ever Grand Slam Champion. In his way, 'The British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith, who had held the belt for 206 days at this point.

Michaels won the match with DX interference and claimed the mantle of Grand Slam Champion, but this is just about the only thing worth mentioning on this show.

Elsewhere on the card we got matches between Vader and Owen Hart, Tiger Ali Singh and Leif Cassidy (the future Al Snow), and a tag team championship match between The Headbangers and Los Boricuas.

Whilst the WWF Championship match did feature big stars, Bret Hart and The Undertaker, it wasn't anything special and is largely forgotten by fans today.

Whilst HBK's match against Bulldog might not be a classic by any standard, it's still a memorable moment from this otherwise wholly-forgettable night in Manchester, England.
