While divas tag teams are a relatively rare occurrence, once upon a time there was an actual Women's Tag Team division that had its own title, but it was made defunct decades ago. There has been a mini resurgence of female tag teams in recent years, namely the Divas of Doom, Bella Twins & The Funkadactyls, but never enough to warrant a resurrected Divas tag division. This leaves only the men's tag team titles as the only opportunity for diva teams to be champions, but frankly it would seem a little absurd to imagine the likes of Cameron and Naomi defeating a team of two men. There have been however, a number of popular and successful male/female pairings in WWE; such as Beth Phoenix & Santino Marella, Eddie Guerrero and Chyna etc; who would have been actually credible as a tag team and possible contenders for the titles. Given the feeling of novelty that intergender tag team champions would create, it seems a little surprising that neither of these couples never even received a tag team title shot, never mind a title reign.
