8. WrestleMania 2000
The WWE was on a serious roll in 2000. Their PPVs, in particular, was on-point: the year 2000 was one of, if not the, company's best ever in terms of supershow in-ring content. WrestleMania 2000, however, was a rare miscue. Odd, because it had the potential to be the best of the year. It was a show that did not come close to reaching its potential on the evening, despite one of two very good matches. Steve Austin missed most of the 2000 PPVs as he was out recovering from major neck surgery, but if there was any show that he wished he had have been on, it would have been WrestleMania. Austin's presence on the card would have automatically improved it. Had Stone Cold been available, he more than likely would have taken a spot in the WWE Championship fatal four way match, alongside Triple H, The Rock and either Mick Foley or the Big Show. Alternatively, Austin could have worked a singles match with any of the above mentioned. Austin didn't even appear on the card, making his first appearance in many months during the main event of Backlash (where it was painfully clear that he wasn't close to making a return to the squared circle).
