10 Mistakes From WrestleMania 36 That WWE Must Not Repeat

9. Opening With A So-So Match

Technically, Cesaro vs. Drew Gulak was the first match people saw if they watched the pre-show. That wasn't officially on the WrestleMania card though, which means Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vs. The Kabuki Warriors was the proper opener.

Hmm.

'Mania 35 started with Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar, 34 with a chaotic three-way ladder bout and 33 with AJ Styles vs. Shane McMahon. This Women's Tag Title match felt like a bit of a lame way to boot the first night over that precipice - if WWE were hoping this'd act like the first drop on a rollercoaster ride, they were wrong.

37 needs a match worthy of that opening spot. It's an important one, because it helps set the tone for the rest of the night. They absolutely cannot expect fans to get hyped for a match they could see every week on Raw or SmackDown.
