Why did they kick the second night off with a disappointment too?

There was genuine buzz for Rhea Ripley's WrestleMania debut when she started her program with Charlotte Flair before the pay-per-view. As that date with destiny crept closer, however, it started to become clear that this wouldn't be a 'Mania bow the NXT stand out desired.

It wasn't outright bad, no, but Ripley came away from the match looking like less of a star than she had been before. Plus, Flair took her NXT Women's Title, and that move didn't satisfy the brand's hardcore fans who were hoping to see their favourite prove that NXT belonged on a level playing field with Raw and SmackDown.

'Mania 37 should kick off with a thumping scorcher that gives people something to smile about. Surely it's in WWE's best interests to make sure that the opening hour or so of WrestleMania is feel good central? That just makes sense.
