Botch: Mid-way through a '$10,000' prize match with Razor Ramon on the 21 June 1993 Raw, The 1-2-3 Kid went for a spectacular flip dive off the top rope to the outside. Unfortunately, he slipped, and landed badly on the exposed concrete floor below. Razor barely caught him.

How It Enhanced The Match: Vince McMahon's commentary helped sell the newcomer's rookie status with one line. "Gallant effort by The Kid" he said after belting out a hokey, "Oh no!" cry seconds before. This helped put over how the WWF newbie only wanted to try his best.

It fit his underdog gimmick, and presented him as someone who'd willingly take chances few others on the roster would. Everything, from the way the live crowd gasped, to McMahon's concerned father style announcing and Kid's splat on the arena floor, made this one part of the match story.
