10 Mistakes That Actually Enhanced WWE Matches

3. That Ain't Sugar Glass (King Of The Ring 2001)

Botch: Nobody told Kurt Angle and Shane McMahon that stunt glass panes they planned to use during their 'Street Fight' had been replaced before King Of The Ring 2001 went on the air. Unbeknownst to them, production staff worried the glass might shatter during the show's pyro-heavy open, so installed real glass instead.

That's why Shane-O thumped against it and slid down during those Angle belly-to-belly suplexes. Ouch.

How It Enhanced The Match: As luck would have it, the image of Kurt brutally bashing McMahon through the set became the most memorable part of their match. Yes, one suplex through sugar glass would've looked awesome, but multiple, failed attempts? Fans loved every second of the slaughter.

Years later, WWE revealed that Vince was screaming his head off from Gorilla and wanted both guys to cease their reckless behaviour lest he lost his son. Sorry, Vin-man - those putrid thuds of Shane's body off the glass added to this spectacle.
