10 Mistakes WWE Are Still Paying For

6. Burying Bayley

Burying Finn Bálor was pretty egregious, but it at least it did serve some wider purpose, albeit a wider purpose that didn't really make any sense.

Bayley's humiliation last year, on the other hand, seemed to be for absolutely nothing. Alexa Bliss, her conqueror, was already running the Monday Night Raw women's division, and didn't really need another scalp to cement herself at its helm.

Even if she did, they could have perhaps gone about it in a way less damaging to The Huggable One, whose own credibility was left completely shot after the embarrassment of "This is Your Life" followed by a dismal showing in their subsequent Extreme Rules encounter.

Granted, Bayley is still plenty popular among the audience - but there's been a definite climb-down from where she stood this time last year. She's nowhere near the level of leading female lights Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss or even Ronda Rousey, the latter of whom has only been around a couple of months.
