10 Mistakes WWE Has Already Made With RETRIBUTION

In order to create a strong antagonist, you need to pair them with an equally captivating hero. Gargano and Ciampa, Cody and MJF, The Rock and Steve Austin. These rivalries felt big time because both of the characters WERE big time. With RETRIBUTION, the foils for the group were The Hurt Business.

The Hurt Business are a great act. They have great chemistry and MVP is really holding the group together throughout their tenure on RAW. That being said, they aren't positioned in the main event. They are upper mid-card at best. Having RETRIBUTION debut and face The Hurt Business has both teams slotted in a particular way... and that is midcard.

This was shown during the 6 October episode of RAW in which Ali revealed his alignment with RETRIBUTION. In order to make a statement and show that the group is a serious threat, this segment should have been positioned in the main event. Instead, it was Drew and Randy who closed the show.

If WWE truly had faith in RETRIBUTION they would have allowed this segment to close the show. Instead, RETRIBUTION and The Hurt Business were left floundering in the midcard.
