10 Mistakes WWE Made With Alberto Del Rio

5. The League Of Nations

After Del Rio turned his back on Zeb Colter, he soon found himself siding with Sheamus, Rusev and Wade Barrett to form the League of Nations; a faction of wrestlers who had little in common other than the fact that they were underused and un-American.

The more naïve fans (myself included0Chad hopes that this might mark a change in fortunes for Del Rio and his floundering WWE return. Obviously, we were wrong.

The League of Nations were more chump than champ, and were soon being fed to the company’s more favoured stars, such as Roman Reigns during his feud with Sheamus for the WWE Championship, as well as Brock Lesnar during a rather random house show mini-tour.

Probably the best way I could describe this group would be to pull out the rather dated reference of likening them to the Putty Patrol from Power Rangers. At first glance, their strength in numbers made them look a threat, but soon it would become apparent that they were just there to make the good guys look strong as they were handily brushed aside.
