10 Mistakes WWE Made With WrestleMania 33

2. That's An Order, Maggot

On a show this long, going on late but not being in the main event is a death sentence in terms of audience reaction. That's where WWE Champion Bray Wyatt and Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton found themselves at WrestleMania, in the preantepenultimate bout of a 13-match show.

Neither Orton nor Wyatt are the kind of exciting worker who can easily get a crowd into a match, so they had an uphill battle. Someone, somewhere, had an idea for how to shake things up, though - when Wyatt hung back from the turnbuckle (and when he did his upside-down crab walk), pictures of creepy-crawlies appeared on the ring canvas - first maggots, then worms, then crickets.

WWE likes to compare itself to theater, but this was too theatrical at best and pretty damn gross at worst. Plus, as numerous people pointed out online, the display of magic by Wyatt didn't seem to affect Orton at all - he still beat 'The Eater of Worlds' for the championship in a 10-minute match - rendering the whole thing pointless.
