10 Mistakes WWE Will Probably Make With The Brand Split
8. Calling Up NXT Guys Too Soon
Since the end of the brand split, WWE has kept its main roster relatively streamlined. All that will soon have to change, though. It takes a lot of talent to maintain what amounts to two promotions, and reports have already begun to circulate that WWE is going to aggressively pursue stars from Japan, Mexico, ROH, and TNA.
The company already has a stock of talent on demand, though - the NXT roster. As much as WWE needs to keep NXT strong (the brand runs two house show tours itself), there will be a definite urge to grab stars from the brand. Men like Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor, and Samoa Joe can be main-eventers on Raw or Smackdown tomorrow, and WWE knows it.
What about the brand's other talent, though - the stars who haven't quite developed while in developmental? As good as NXT's major shows are, there are wrestlers on the brand who simply aren't ready for prime time - guys like Blake and Murphy, Sawyer Fulton, and more need time to improve (if it ever happens). Bringing them up to a main show now would hurt the product, but there they are for the taking.
There are plenty of up-and-coming independent wrestlers out there, and as Triple H's pet project, NXT will be safe in the long run. The question is whether or not its stars will ultimately have a positive impact on WWE.
