10 Mistruths You Should Stop Believing About Wrestling

2. They All Just Use Steroids

Putting it bluntly, even if every single professional wrestler on the planet did take steroids, they simply would not look at they do without endless hours of toil and hard work on their physiques. There seems to be this misconception amongst most people that anabolic steroid use directly equates with bulging muscles, almost as though it's a fast track to that killer body. Steroids would help, of course, because they greatly increase the levels of testosterone and other chemicals in the body related to muscle growth, but they wouldn't do much without hard work in the gym to back them up. Regardless, most folks who don't watch wrestling merely assume that everyone is on the gas, but the truth couldn't be any more different. Now, nobody is going to be naive enough to believe that every single pro wrestler the world over is 100% clean from steroids, or any other performance-enhancing drugs, but to say that every grappler is on the gear would be like assuming every single professional runner secretly has rocket boosters in their shoes.
