10 MMA Fights That Were The Beginning Of The End For Legends

2. Ronda Rousey Vs. Holly Holm - UFC 193

Only a handful of fighters can claim to have made as much of an impression as Ronda Rousey.

At one point in time, Rowdy Ronda had a four-year spell where she went 12-0 - with 11 of those wins coming in the first round! For those years, Rousey was absolutely unstoppable.

Like all good things, Ronda Rousey's reign of dominance had to come to an end. And come to an end, it did.

Despite being a heavy favourite ahead of her UFC 193 fight against Holly Holm, the then-UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion was rocked from the get-go. Like a rabbit in the headlights, Rousey simply couldn't cope with The Preacher's Daughter's striking game. Fortunate to have made it through the first round, Ronda was inevitably left KO'd by a high kick in the second round as Holm shocked the world.

The iconic Ronda Rousey was now no longer undefeated, was now no longer invincible, and had now been well and truly humbled.

So hard did Rousey take this first career loss, she took a year away from the Octagon before returning in December 2016 to face Amanda Nunes. With Ronda's mystique now no longer a factor, Nunes got a first round TKO win which effectively put an end to Ronda Rousey's MMA career.
