10 MMA Submissions That Are Almost Impossible To Escape From

1. Figure Four Leg Triangle

As with all of these submissions, there are so many ways of getting into them from a variety of different positions. However, we again will be focusing on how to do so from having your rival's back in a seated position.

But, unlike the majority of the submissions on this list, plan A doesn't have to be the rear-naked choke. Instead, you can shoot straight for the figure four leg triangle once you've trapped your opponent's arm with a two-on-one.

With that arm compromised, throw the leg on that side over their shoulder and across their chest/neck. Your hamstring should be against the back of their neck. After this, flip your other leg over the heel of the foot coming across the torso and form your triangle. This will make your diagonal loop.

Following this, you'll need to pinch your knees together - like we did for the armbar and kneebar - before performing a tricep dip and chuckling at your trapped victim between your legs.

If you really want to dial things up, you can straighten out their suspended arm for an armbar or adjust for a wrist lock, kimura or americana accordingly.

The beauty of this submission (and so many shoot submissions) is the fact that you can constantly adapt and adjust the move in order to counter your opponent's movements. If a kimura is resisted, then you can shift to the americana. Whichever move you land on in the end, it's safe to say that when it's fully locked in the fight is as good as over for the person on the receiving end of it.
