10 Modern-Era Title Reigns That Should Have Never Happened

4. The Godfather's Ho (Cynthia Lynch): WWE Hardcore Championship

Whatever chance the WWE Hardcore Championship had of becoming a respectable secondary title ended the moment the 24/7 rule went into effect. The rule allowed a wrestler to pin the title holder at any time and anywhere.

It made it possible for one of The Godfather's hos, a developmental talent named Cynthia Lynch, to pin Crash Holly and enjoy a title reign that lasted literally 15 seconds. While things were already trending in that direction, Lynch's title reign can be pointed to as the exact moment when the hardcore title became a joke. Future title holders would include Gerald Brisco, Pat Patterson, and Terri Runnels.

Despite the list of lackluster champs that proceeded her, Cynthia Lynch has the distinction of being the worst WWE Hardcore Champion of all-time.
