10 Modern-Era Title Reigns That Should Have Never Happened

5. David Arquette: WCW World Heavyweight Championship

Of all of Vince Russo's bad booking decisions during his time in WCW, the David Arquette world title run is easily among his worst.

There was absolutely no benefit to giving the company's most prestigious belt to an undersized actor who was only there to promote a dreadful movie. If Russo was dead set on using Arquette to gain publicity, he could have just as easily had the Scream star win a secondary title, which would have been slightly less appalling.

WCW was already struggling at the time and having the company's top title at the center of a bad comedy angle was not a good look.

Ready To Rumble, the film this awful angle was created to promote, failed to even cover it's production cost at the box office, adding to the list of reasons this reign was a massive failure.
